I make MOSAICS because I love the creative process and take pride in the finished result. As soon as I was introduced to mosaic-making in 2007 by a friend, I was hooked. As my skills have developed through experimentation, trial and error, with help, advice and inspiration from several very generous artists, I’ve become fascinated by the possibilities and scope this wonderful art form offers.
My style and imagination have developed over the years and I make a range of different types of mosaics. A key skill is in the cutting and I enjoy the intricacy of making a very detailed piece. My mosaics tend to grow organically and I rarely draw the whole piece out in advance, preferring to let the creative process take over. I particularly like taking an item or a view and giving it an abstract slant. I love colour, texture and nature and I spend a lot of time outdoors, walking or by the sea which provide me with my main inspirations.
Mosaic art is my passion and my aim is to open people’s minds to the variety and varied forms a mosaic may take.
